Coordinating Assembly of Non-Governmental Organisations (CANGO)
CANGO seeks to be a common NGO voice and resource for serving the People of Swaziland and representing the concerns of the poor, disadvantaged, and marginalized.

Swaziland Environmental Authority (SEA)
The public-body charged with ensuring the protection of Swaziland's environment.  Good information on topical environmental issues in Swaziland, and on Swazi environmental legislation. 

Swaziland National Trust Commission (SNTC)
The Swaziland National Trust Commission is the parastatal organisation responsible for the conservation of nature and the cultural heritage of the Kingdom of Swaziland.  Its mission is to conserve the natural and cultural heritage of Swaziland through sustainable utilisation of these resources and promotion of environmental awareness throughout the nation.

Amnesty International
Amnesty International is a worldwide movement of people who campaign for internationally recognized human rights.  Its vision is of a world in which every person enjoys all of the human rights enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and other international human rights standards.

Calabash
The objectives of the Calabash Project are to identify and expand opportunities for civil society involvement in decision-making through environmental assessment processes, and to define issues, options, approaches and tools for integrating environmental planning, assessment and management into small-scale community driven developments.  The project is managed by the Southern African Institute for Environmental Assessment (SAIEA) with its headquarters in Windhoek, Namibia.

Environmental Law Alliance Worldwide (E-LAW)
E-LAW gives public interest lawyers and scientists around the world the skills and resources they need to protect the environment through law.  More than 300 grassroots lawyers and scientists in 60 countries call on the E-LAW network for critical legal and scientific tools.

Friends of the Earth International (FoEI)
FoEI is a federation of autonomous environmental organizations from all over the world. Our members, in over 70 countries, campaign on the most urgent environmental and social issues of our day, while simultaneously catalyzing a shift toward sustainable societies.  Yonge Nawe is the member body for Friends of the Earth International in Swaziland. 

groundWork
groundWork is a non-profit environmental justice service and developmental organization working primarily in South Africa but increasingly in Southern Africa.  groundWork is the representative body in South Africa for Friends of the Earth International.

Healthcare Without Harm
Health Care Without Harm is an international coalition of 429 organizations in 52 countries working to transform the health care industry so it is no longer a source of harm to people and the environment.

Lawyers Environmental Action Team (LEAT)
The Lawyers' Environmental Action Team is the first public interest environmental law organization in Tanzania.  Its mission is to ensure sound natural resource management and environmental protection in Tanzania.

Skillshare International
Skillshare International works for sustainable development in partnership with the people and communities of Africa and Asia.   They do this by sharing and developing skills, facilitating organisational effectiveness and supporting organisational growth.  Yonge Nawe has worked closely with Skillshare over the past 15 years. 

World Conservation Union (IUCN)
The IUCN aims to influence, encourage and assist societies to conserve the integrity and diversity of nature and to ensure that any use of natural resources is equitable and ecologically sustainable.  Yonge Nawe is a Member of the IUCN.

ZERO Regional Environment Organisation
ZERO aims to contribute to environment and development solutions in the Southern African Development Community (SADC) countries.  ZERO's mission is to promote an enabling policy environment for rural and urban disadvantaged women, men and youth for them to manage and utilize land and land-based resources to meet their needs in a sustainable manner.

International Environmental Law

Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD)
The objectives of the CBD are the conservation of biological diversity, the sustainable use of its components and the fair and equitable sharing of the benefits arising out of the utilisation of resources.

Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES)
CITES is an international agreement between Governments.  Its aim is to ensure that international trade in specimens of wild animals and plants does not threaten their survival.

Convention to Combat Desertification (CCD)
The CCD is an international effort to tackle the economic, social and environmental problems of desertification.

Eco Schools
Eco-Schools is an international programme for environmental education 
for sustainability.  Involving full pupil participation in the decision making, planning and activities, it is an ideal way to implement Local Agenda 21 in the school community.  Includes links to eco-schools networks in South Africa and Kenya. Highly Recommended.

UK-based site about integrating environment and sustainability into the general curriculum.

Environmental Literacy Council
Environmental education information for students and teachers, good basic overviews of environmental topics and recent news items.

Environmental Sustainability Index
The Environmental Performance Measurement Project aims to shift environmental decision-making to firmer analytic foundations using environmental indicators and statistics by producing a periodically updated Environmental Sustainability Index (ESI). The ESI is a composite index tracking a diverse set of socioeconomic, environmental, and institutional indicators that characterize and influence environmental sustainability at the national scale.

SADC Regional Environmental Education Programme 
The purpose of the Regional Environmental Education (EE) Programme is to enable environmental education practitioners in the SADC region to strengthen environmental education processes for equitable and sustainable environmental management choices. This will be achieved through enhanced and strengthened environmental education policy, networking, resource materials and training capacity.

International Institute for Sustainable Development
This is a useful website providing updates on international negotiations and progress with collaborative projects with global partners, in particular international environmental treaties and conventions.  IISD also provides an excellent e-mail newsletter, Earth Negotiations Bulletin, which provides summaries of progress on treaties and conventions.

UN OCHA site with large volume of news on humanitarian and development issues, including Swaziland country profile and updates.  Highly Recommended.
